PSI to collaborate with the Australian e-government technology cluster
Monday 22nd February 2010, 11.00am.
Perimeter Security Industries Pty Ltd today announced a formal agreement with the Australian e-Government Technology Cluster to undertake beta-testing of the 'SmartMat', part of the suite of technologies currently under development by PSI.
PSI CEO Ian Bergman said 'Today we delivered two advanced prototype 'SmartMat' systems to the e-Government Cluster to enable their research teams to begin their testing program. This is an exciting collaboration as it promises to extend the potential applications of our existing suite of technologies. Our primary focus is on perimeter security and the deterrent and detection of intruders. This collaboration will enable us to develop new algorithms to extend the potential of our technologies into new areas such as pedestrian traffic monitoring.'
The beta-testing will involve extensive laboratory and field trials to measure the accuracy and effectiveness of the latest advanced prototypes. The testing will be undertaken in conjunction with NICTA, Australia's foremost information and communications technology research agency.

The Company - Perimeter Security Industries Pty Ltd
Perimeter Security Industries Pty Ltd has developed a breakthrough technology with important implications for the security industry in Australia. The technology supports a new range of products for both outdoor and indoor applications which provide for the deterrent and detection of intruders in a range of situations. The initial product - the SecureMat - is a versatile on-ground mat which detects any intruders walking across a protected area. When an intruder is detected sensor boxes emit a deterrent alarm and simultaneously send an SMS to a home base. PSI has developed a suite of proprietary algorithms which ensure negligible false alarms and a very high probability of detection.
