PSI announces first 'live' beta-test site trials of the SecureMat a success

Monday 7th June 2010, 11.00am.

Perimeter Security Industries has installed the SecureMat around containers on a large construction site in Queanbeyan in order to prevent theft and alert management to intruders.

The area is the first of many 'live beta-testing sites' and has so far exceeded expectations in regards to its usability, performance and robustness.

The mats continue to perform as a semi-covert system, maintaining the ability to alert multiple mobiles in case of an alarm during quiet hours while withstanding heavy equipment and traffic during work hours.

The system is self-powering and a siren and alarm activates in the event of intrusion.

'It's May 2010. Perimeter Security Industries has just installed the SecureMat around the containers that you can see behind me on a major construction site in Queanbeyan, New South Wales.'

'At the front of the containers, the SecureMat is enclosed within hard-wearing rubber-mats. At night and on weekends the system is alarmed. If an intruder stands on the mats whilst attempting to force the doors a signal is sent via SMS to the contracted security firm which then responds within minutes.'

'The SecureMat is also placed around the edges of the containers so as to detect intruders moving around the containers seeking to scrawl graffiti or cause general damage.'

'The system is currently set to activate a loud alarm and a flashing light to scare away intruders. If the customer wants to catch and hopefully prosecute the intruders the system can be set to silent alarm.'

The Company - Perimeter Security Industries Pty Ltd

Perimeter Security Industries Pty Ltd has developed a breakthrough technology with important implications for the security industry in Australia. The technology supports a new range of products for both outdoor and indoor applications which provide for the deterrent and detection of intruders in a range of situations. The initial product - the SecureMat - is a versatile on-ground mat which detects any intruders walking across a protected area. When an intruder is detected sensor boxes emit a deterrent alarm and simultaneously send an SMS to a home base. PSI has developed a suite of proprietary algorithms which ensure negligible false alarms and a very high probability of detection.
